A Little About the Farm:We moved to this farm in the Autumn of 2011 and began work to restore the degraded land. Prior owners used conventional farming practices which left the soil bare and vulnerable to erosion and doused in harmful chemicals killing anything in it’s path.
A lot of progress has been made since we moved in. The majority of the farm is now fenced, allowing us greater flexibility and better management for land and livestock alike. Fields are now covered in lush green forage, blooming with life. A Little About the Farmers:Tom and Candy are first generation farmers who had no previous background in farming when they started close to 40 years ago. They were raising grassfed beef before grassfed beef was even cool.
I (Kyle) am a second generation farmer and the farm manager here. In addition to a lifetime of farming experience, I added a BSc (Hons) from the Royal Agricultural University in Cirencester England and a MSc from Colorado State University in Integrated Resource Management. |
